We all have products that we love and always repurchase but what if there is a product out there that will make a difference in your skin/hair/makeup routine ? Samples are the way to go, so you get to try something without the commitment of buying the full size product. In the past I hated asking at counters for samples but if you’re genuinely interested in something don’t be afraid to ask.

Ok so I’ve picked up some samples recently, some testers from makeup counters and some came free when I purchased products. Here is my sample roundup:

Benefit Porefessional: This is a pore minimising primer, feels super silky and really made a difference on the pores on my nose. It gave a great canvas for the foundation and helped it stay on. I wish I tried it sooner.
Tested: The sample was only enough for 2 days ( sample came with foundation Hello Flawless)
Would I purchase full size: Hell Yeah!
Downside: Price €34 for 22 ml, which seems really expensive but I think it’s best to use it on the areas most needed.

Lancôme
Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation
: Beautiful foundation that lasts a full day. This foundation worked really well on my skin type but I feel this will work with nearly all skin types. Coverage is on the full side of medium. It is lightweight and is not cakey. It’s got a satin feel with a natural matte appearance. SPF 15.
Tested: 10 days, I picked up a sample from Clearys. It was average size but this just lasted and lasted which means a little goes a long way.
Would I purchase full size: Yes, it’s top of my list.

Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion with Shea Butter : A silky smooth body lotion with shea butter. Left skin smooth and soft, even my boyfriend noticed. It is not sticky and you don’t have to wait for it to dry before getting dressed.
Tested: 7days
Would I purchase full size: Yes

Nuxe oil: A dry oil that is for hair, face and body. Has loads of skin loving ingredients. Has a scent that I’m not mad on but I was using this at night so this doesn’t bother me. Really think this made a difference to skin over a few nights.
Tested: 5 nights, sample from an order with cloud10beauty, again a little goes a long way.
Would I purchase a full size: Yes because I could really feel an improvement in skin over the few nights.

Benefit Sun Beam: Sunshine in a bottle, a beautiful golden highlight for face (shoulders, décolletage and down the front of tanned legs) I really like this it’s light and spreads easily onto the skin. I like to apply it with finger tips and tap it on to my cheekbones.
Tested: This sample I received from benefit and it’s 5ml, I haven’t been using it everyday but you don’t need loads, I use mine sparingly for a subtle effect.
Would I purchase full size: Yes

As you can see from this sample roundup I loved the products I sampled and now I want the full size products. This is the great thing about samples. It benefits both the customer and the product/brand. I know MAC cosmetics don’t do samples but I think they should, I would love to try out some of the foundations since they have such a variety. Even if they charge €2/3 euro per sample they’d still make money and the customer will be happier knowing they tested out the foundation before purchasing the full size.

Leave a comment below and tell me what samples you have tested out. Did you like or dislike the product? Do you think samples are a good idea and think more brands should offer them?
